A new chapter unfolds as the SKILL ‘G’ Add-Ons (SKAD) capacity-building initiative commences its third cohort of participants. This initiative is a collaborative effort between TETFund, NBTE, and SKILL ‘G’ Group. SKAD 3.0 marks another transformative journey to enhance the technical capabilities of 32 lecturers and technologists from public Polytechnics in Nigeria. The focus? Equipping them with the proficiency to operate and maintain advanced equipment provided to their institutions courtesy of TETFund.
SKAD aims to empower a total of 204 lecturers and technologists from 51 Federal and State institutions. This visionary endeavor encompasses comprehensive training in Autotronics, Mechatronics, Electronics, and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC).
SKILL G SKAD 3.0: Introducing SKAD Training Cohort 3
The third installment of the SKAD training unfolds against the vibrant backdrop of South-West Nigeria. All 32 participants will engage in intensive training in the aforementioned areas of focus over a span of 5 days. Institutions participating in SKAD 3.0 include Kwara State Polytechnic, Federal Polytechnic Offa, The Polytechnic Ibadan, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, and Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke.

SKILL G SKAD 3.0: Opening Event
The curtain rose on SKAD 3.0 with the resonant chords of the Nigerian national anthem and the pledge. Engr. Chijioke Okolie Sampson, the Project Manager of SKILL ‘G’ Nigeria Limited, extended a warm welcome to the 32 participants gathered for this capacity-building training. He introduced the project team, including the Project Coordinator, Mr. Julius Ayo Bada, alongside a cadre of experts – Engr. Obuba Kalu Olua, Engr. Ahmed Oyedele, Engr. Osmond Ugwuanyi, Engr. Essien Godwin, Engr. Emmanuel Nene, Engr. Polycarp, Engr Wale Balogun, Engr. Afamefuna Nnamani, Engr. Josiah Owura, Mr. Christian Onyeoziri, and Mr. Daniel Eneh.
After introduction, the platform was gracefully handed over to the participants, each taking a moment to introduce themselves, their institutions, and their areas of expertise. Afterwards, the Project Manager delved into a concise history of Skill ‘G’ Nigeria Limited. The insightful overview traced the progress and milestones of Skill ‘G’, highlighting previous collaborative endeavors with academia that have paved the way for the vital SKAD capacity-building training. A special tribute was also paid to TETFund, under the visionary guidance of Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny Echono.
Concluding the opening event was a visual presentation, meticulously illustrating the intricate web of activities woven into the fabric of the SKAD initiative.

With the 5-day SKAD training’s curtain raised and participants immersed in a journey of growth, collaboration, and empowerment, the stage is set for these educators to unlock new dimensions of technical expertise, nurturing innovation and excellence across Nigeria’s academic landscape.

The TETFund Skill ‘G’ add-ons (SKAD) training program celebrated the successful conclusion of its 8th batch today.
SKAD 8 focused on equipping 32 lecturers and technologists from TETFund-sponsored universities across Nigeria with the skills necessary for the operation and maintenance of equipment provided to their institutions by TETFund. The primary emphasis was on Science Education and Training (SET).
The 7th edition of TETFund Skill ‘G’ Add-Ons (SKAD) program begins today.
In this 7th edition, SKAD has expanded its reach to a hybrid of universities and polytechnics, signaling a shift from previous editions, which exclusively catered to lecturers and technologists in polytechnics; and ushering in a new wave of batches, specifically catering to members of Academia from Universities.
Skill ‘G’ Add-Ons (SKAD), in partnership with TETFund has successfully concluded its 6th batch, on the 15th September, 2023, marking yet another milestone in its mission to bolster the technical proficiencies of lecturers and technologists in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
TETFund Skill ‘G’ Add-Ons (SKAD) capacity-building initiative began its 6th edition on 11th September, 2023.
This edition marks a significant milestone, welcoming an esteemed cohort of 32 lecturers and technologists hailing from polytechnics nestled in the heart of North-Eastern Nigeria.
The Skill ‘G’ Add-Ons (SKAD) program successfully completed its fifth edition on the 8th September, 2023, marking another significant milestone in the collaboration between Skill ‘G’ and TETFund.
The TETFund Skill G Add-ons (SKAD) capacity-building initiative is back with its 5th batch of training, and it’s bigger and better than ever before.
SKAD’s primary focus is on equipping these professionals with the expertise needed to effectively utilize and maintain equipment provided to their institutions by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
