The impactful SKAD capacity-building training, a collaborative initiative between TETFund and Skill ‘G’ Nigeria Limited, reached a significant milestone as it wrapped up its first cohort of participants. The five-day training program catered to 32 academics from various Polytechnics across Nigeria, aiming to empower them with essential equipment usage and maintenance skills slated for implementation within their respective institutions.
Skill G Capacity-Building Training: Closing Event
At the closing ceremony, Engr. Okolie Sampson Chijioke, the project manager of Skill ‘G’ Nigeria Limited, shared his heartfelt reflections with the participants. His inspiring words resonated with the essence of innovation and experimentation. “We envision a future where new perspectives and novel approaches drive progress,” he stated. “Our journey forward should never revisit the past; instead, let’s embrace constant improvement.”
Engr. Chijioke further emphasized the expectation of the facilitators and initiators for the participants to propagate and amplify the acquired knowledge within their institutions. He envisioned a ripple effect of positive change emanating from this training.
Testimonies
The SKAD training was structured into four distinct classes: Mechatronics, Autotronics, Electronics, and RAC (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning). Testimonials from representatives of each class reaffirmed the program’s effectiveness.
Engr. Mohammed Abubakar, a voice from the Mechatronics class representing Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, hailed the initiative’s efforts while suggesting an extension of the training duration for even greater impact.
Yamajin Tanimu, who represented the Autotronics class from Federal Polytechnic Bida, expressed gratitude to the facilitators and staff. His words were brimming with encouragement, urging them to continue their journey as this is only the beginning.
Engr. Joshua Agandu, a spokesperson from the Plateau State Polytechnic and a member of the RAC class, underscored the newfound confidence participants gained in dismantling and reassembling systems. He also lauded the SKAD program for simplifying data reading processes.
Representing the Electronics class, Engr. Jibrin Abdullahi of Nasarawa State Polytechnic, extended sincere appreciation to Skill ‘G’ and TETFund for orchestrating this valuable training. He acknowledged the profound experience and programming skills garnered during the program, which have further equipped him for future challenges.
Skill G Capacity-Building Training: The Climax
The event reached its climax as the facilitators presented packages to the eight team leads. These packages will be presented to the rectors of the participants’ respective institutions, fostering a direct bridge for knowledge transfer.
To commemorate their successful completion, all 32 participants received certificates bearing the signature of TETFund’s Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny Echono.
