i-FAIR Grand Finale 2020/21

The Innovation Fellowship for Aspiring Inventors and Researchers (i-FAIR), a platform committed to supporting Innovative Nigerians, especially youths in transforming their ideas into inventions that will drive inclusive and viable industrialization in Africa. i-FAIR is a programme  of the Israeli Embassy in Nigeria and the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria, in partnership with Skill “G” Nigeria Ltd, Denovo Israel Ltd, Gregory University Uturu, Tanir Corporation, TETFUND, NIRSAL, Zenith Bank PLC and others, initiated to create an ecosystem of innovation and invention in Nigeria, and a synergy between inventors and the industry.

After 6 months of rigorous training, mentorship and prototype fabrication, i-FAIR produced 34 start-ups that will address market needs within the Nigerian Ecosystem in the fields of Food Security, Food Technology, Medical Devices/ Simulation, Green/Renewable Energy and Social Responsibility.

At the grand finale held at Skill “G” Innovation Center from 2nd to 3rd June 2021, Fellows of i-FAIR exhibited and pitched their prototypes to prospective investors, who were impressed by the various innovations and expressed willingness to invest.

Congratulations to i-FAIR 2020/21 Fellows, we hope their success inspires others, and products deployed for industrial uptake, as we look forward to grooming the next generation of innovators and inventors at i-FAIR 2021/22.

  • Sanitization of Surfaces: Surfaces prone to high usage like door handles, entry gate, pantry area, arm rests, furniture surfaces are frequently sanitized with disinfectants.
  • Staff Covid-19 training:
    The staff of the organizations were trained holistically on precautionary and safety measures. Each staff member knows what to do to guide every visitor or client in basic safety measures. More so, the workers were mandated to observe the standards themselves.
  • Mask up: This was the norm during the pandemic, but the populace easily contravened it. Hence the organization made a mandatory rule of No mask, no entry.
  • Enter with your ID: The possibilities of emergencies were considered; hence all individuals must have their ID on at all times. This allows for easy recognition and also reduces the entrance of loiterers into the organization.
  • Hygiene & Washing of hands: Staff and visitors are encouraged to wash their hands with soap before entering the organization. We further encourage the washing of hands at stipulated breaks.
