It aims to empower them with the technical skills to utilize and maintain equipment provided to their institutions by TETFund.
SKAD 6: Igniting a Spark of Knowledge in North-East Nigeria
The launch of SKAD 6 marks a significant milestone, welcoming an esteemed cohort of 32 lecturers and technologists hailing from polytechnics nestled in the heart of North-Eastern Nigeria. Among these institutions are Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri; Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola; Federal Polytechnic, Mubi; Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu; Yobe State Polytechnic, Geidam; Taraba State Polytechnic, Jalingo; Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic; and Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi.
Skill ‘G’ Add-Ons: A Grand Unveiling
The inauguration of SKAD 6 was nothing short of a resonating affair, commencing with the rendition of the national anthem and a solemn recital of the pledge, uniting all in attendance in the spirit of the momentous occasion. The event took a significant turn as Engr. Chijioke Okolie Sampson, the Project Manager of Skill ‘G’ Nigeria Limited introduced the SKAD journey. He intimated the evolution of the program, tracing its path to becoming the transformative initiative known today as SKAD.
To foster camaraderie and build connections among participants, a round of introductions followed, with each individual representing their respective institutions and the specific SKAD track they had chosen. The SKAD training journey unfolds along four distinct tracks: Autotronics, Mechatronics, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC), and Electronics. Following these introductions, the Project Manager introduced the esteemed instructors who would be guiding participants through these specialized tracks.

A highlight of the event was a presentation of the upgraded models that promise to be the linchpin of SKAD. Participants were treated to an insider’s view, gaining insights into the remarkable advantages these cutting-edge tools offer over conventional alternatives.
The Anatomy of SKAD: A Palette of Add-Ons for Excellence
Instructors representing each SKAD track took the stage, shedding light on the treasure trove of knowledge and practical skills. Engr. Kalu Olua, from the Autotronics class, meticulously detailed the array of add-ons available in this domain. Meanwhile, Engr. Osmond Ugwuanyi, an expert in Mechatronics, unraveled the exciting add-ons within his purview. For the RAC track, Engr. Polycarp shared the list of add-ons, while Daniel Eneh, opened a window into the captivating world of electronic add-ons.
Deputy Project Manager, Engr. Afam Nnamani, introduced participants to a tool kit brimming with various components essential to their SKAD journey. Among these valuable tools was a pen housing a storage device that contained Skill ‘G’s comprehensive catalog.
